Incredible Testimony: Pilgrim Says Our Lady Saved His Life After a Pilgrimage to Medjugorje

“The grace of my many pilgrimages to Medjugorje has been a great blessing in my life. From the very beginning, from my first pilgrimage there, Mary ‘touched’ me with her gentle love and brought me closer to God,” pilgrim George testified to Milujcie Sie.
I longed to return to Medjugorje because there I felt as though I were in the antechamber of heaven, unlike anywhere else in the world. In a special way, Mary inspires holy desires, gives and renews the joy of life, kindles God’s dreams within us, and helps us carry our daily cross…
A few years ago, I was working in Szczecin, about 250 kilometers from my hometown of Poznań. I visited my parents once a month. In the morning, I would drive for about three and a half hours to see them and then return in the evening.
During the journey, I prayed a little and then listened to the radio. When, during my second pilgrimage to Medjugorje, I heard that Mary continually calls us to prayer, I decided to replace listening to the radio with praying the Rosary, because there are so many intentions to pray for.
Those hours in the car, spent praying with Mary, filled me with great enthusiasm. I brought back from Medjugorje a sticker bearing an image of Mary and the words, “If you knew how much I love you, you would weep for joy.” I placed it in my car, and it constantly reminded me of my decision.
One autumn evening, I was praying the Rosary as I drove back to Szczecin in the dark. At one point, the bright moon illuminated Mary’s face on the sticker. Perhaps for two seconds, I took my eyes off the road to look at the image of the Mother of God. During that brief moment, even though I had not moved the steering wheel, my car came to a stop just beyond the edge of the road. It simply stopped.
When I looked up, I was shocked to see a car coming around the bend at high speed in the opposite direction, but driving in my lane. It was clearly overtaking illegally on the curve and was heading straight toward me. Had I remained in my lane, we would have collided head-on!
I believe it was Mary who guided my car off the road, brought it to a stop, and saved my life. The two vehicles only lightly brushed their side mirrors, leaving behind a mark of what had happened—as confirmation, to me, of an extraordinary intervention from heaven.
I thought about this situation for a long time, and for me, only a miracle can explain it. At the very moment when I was praying the Rosary and telling Mary that I loved her, my car suddenly came to a stop about a meter and a half off to the side.
Because I was off to the side of the road, I avoided a terrible accident that I would not have survived in a car as small as a Daewoo Tico. I firmly believe that it was Mary’s maternal love that saved me.
