The phenomenon of the disappearing cross on Križevac is becoming increasingly frequent… About seventy men and women were kneeling, unaware that rain was falling, also looking in the direction of Križevac. Some seemed to be crying, some gazed toward Križevac with awe, and some were praying. The cross on Križevac had disappeared, and a statue-like figure of a woman appeared.
The photograph of Križevac was taken by Niall Kearney and posted on Facebook. Niall says: “This photograph was taken yesterday. If you zoom in, you can see the base of the cross, but not the cross itself.”

I went to Medjugorje at the beginning of November 2017. On November 6, I walked to the statue of the Risen Christ to say my early morning prayers. As I was passing by St. James Church, I looked up toward Križevac, and then, like everyone else who was present there, I saw the miracle of the cross on Križevac. The cross was not there. I was sure I was looking in the right direction. I had been in Medjugorje for more than a week and knew where I needed to look, but the cross had disappeared. I thought that perhaps it had been covered by a cloud or a patch of fog.

At around 5 p.m. on the evening of October 22, 1981, Fr. Janko Bubalo looked through the parish window in Medjugorje and saw two nuns who, with their arms outstretched, were kneeling in the rain, facing in the direction of Križevac.
