Today, Medjugorje prays the Rosary for peace with the Holy Father

Today, after the evening Holy Mass, Medjugorje will join in the great prayer of the Rosary for peace with the Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV.
In these days marked by armed conflicts among various countries, the Holy Father wishes to express a gesture of closeness to all peoples suffering the consequences of war and violence. For this reason, today at 7 p.m., in front of the Lourdes Grotto in the Vatican, he will lead the prayer of the Rosary for the gift of peace.
This prayer event will be broadcast live and shared with shrines around the world that have joined in the common prayer. Among the major shrines taking part are Fatima, Lourdes, Loreto, the Shrine of St. Charbel in Lebanon, the Shrine of the Mother of God in Ukraine, the Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage in the Philippines, and the Shrine of the Queen of Peace in Medjugorje.
In Medjugorje today, as usual, the Rosary will be prayed at the outdoor altar of St. James Church starting at 5 p.m., and Holy Mass will be celebrated at 6 p.m. After the evening Mass, there will not be Adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, as is customary. Instead, the faithful will join in praying the Rosary with Pope Leo XIV.
The live broadcast of the Rosary from the Vatican will be shown on the video wall next to the outdoor altar. In this way, the faithful gathered in Medjugorje will join in prayer with the Holy Father, while at the same time the live video broadcast from Medjugorje will be shown in the Vatican.
For all those who will not be able to be in Medjugorje, the live broadcast will be available HERE on the YouTube channels of the Mir Medjugorje Information Center.
The Holy Father will pray the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary, and each decade will be specially dedicated to those affected by war and violence, entrusting them to the intercession of Mary, Queen of Peace.
In the first mystery, prayers will be offered for the victims of war, especially the most vulnerable. The second mystery will be dedicated to those who bring words of hope and the comfort of faith to peoples affected by war. In the third decade, special prayers will be offered for doctors, medical personnel, and volunteers who provide humanitarian aid every day.
In the fourth mystery, the prayer will be directed toward those who suffer the violence of war, prisoners, and all those who endure humiliations that violate human dignity. The fifth and final Joyful Mystery will be dedicated to prayer for the end of war and the establishment of lasting peace in the world.
In this way, Medjugorje today, together with numerous shrines around the world, will join in the Church’s powerful plea for peace, praying through the intercession of Mary, Queen of Peace, that wars may cease and that peace may be born again in people’s hearts.
